The problem is that the disc that we were sent is 32-bit without any service packs and Non-R2, and the behavior of the disc is odd to say the least (possibly indicative of older software on newer hardware). We just ordered a copy of Windows Server 2003 authentic, retail (non-academic), with genuine key (printed on the back of the DVD-like case), from a seller on eBay. I am currently working as an IT contractor for a Home Health Care Firm in Wilmington, NC. I Joined to ask a pertinent question I have, regarding Windows Server 2003 (vanilla).
